Bearsted Parish Council Mission Statement
To sustain and support a safe and cohesive community by representing and serving the best interests of those who live, visit or work in it and to ensure that those who represent the Parish Council are accountable for all Council activity through good governance.
What we do
Represent and serve the community and allocate the community resources accordingly.
Maintain the Parish Council’s assets to ensure safety and recreational use where appropriate.
Support community activities where these contribute to a cohesive community and support the policies of the Parish Council.
How do we do it?
By listening to and engaging with all stakeholders who have an interest in or influence on the community within the established legal framework of local government, utilising finances in line with our policies and procedures according to government legislation.
Who do we do it for?
The people who live, visit or who have a stake in the community.
Objectives
To utilise the resources and assets available to the Parish Council to;
- To ensure that the community remains clean, healthy and safe and that all residents are well informed.
- Use appropriate facilities in the community where residents of all ages can come together to participate in sports, social, wellbeing and other leisure activities.
- Lobby transport, health and education authorities and providers to ensure where appropriate the needs of our residents are fully met.
- Ensure all our historic and natural assets are identified and afforded protection so that they are preserved for the good of the community.
