Yesterday Medway Valley Countryside Partnership began work clearing the entrance and brambles to Meadow Bank. Bearsted Parish Council are aiming to turn this into a nature reserve with a footpath for visitors to be able to walk around the entire site. Eventually there will be steps and handrails on the steep slope, signs advising about plant and animal species and benches for visitors to sit and enjoy nature. Medway Valley have also suggested this could be used as a location for forest schools for our 3 village schools.
There are currently two more work days booked for the 15th October and 12th November, if any resident would like to join the volunteer team, please contact the office at clerk@bearstedparishcouncil.gov.uk
