Deputy Mayor visit to Playscheme
/in News /by Erin Sugden[ngg src=”galleries” ids=”2″ display=”basic_slideshow” maximum_entity_count=”20″]Playscheme got off to a great start this week with fantastic weather and a visit from Deputy Mayor Cllr Fay Gooch.
The Deputy Mayor had fun with the children playing hockey, seeing crafts and also being questioned by some of our smallest members.
The Chairman of Bearsted Parish Council said ” The Playscheme has sold out this year and Bearsted Parish Council are very happy that the event has been able to go ahead providing much needed fun for lots of children that did not get a chance to return to school, as well as childcare for local residents. Having the Deputy Mayor visit was a real treat for the children”.

Tree inspections
/in News /by Administration AssistantCouncillors were out this morning with Chris Colwell , a resident and an arboricultural consultant who has offered to give his time and expert opinion on works that will soon need to be carried out to some of the trees we have in the Parish. Our trees have not been looked at for some years and unfortunately there will be some trees that need to be removed at some stage due to them dying , some trees being crowned 2 m which pose a safety issue and some that just require dead branches removed to strengthen growth elsewhere. We will be replanting a number of trees to replace any removed as well as some additional ones for the environment of the village. Once permissions have been granted by MBC, we shall inform residents the tree works that are to take place in the Autumn as well as the planting of replacements. We very much appreciate Chris Colewell’s help in putting the plan together which has been well overdue.

The Green Play Area- STILL CLOSED
/in News /by Erin SugdenOur play area was due to open on Saturday 4th July but sadly we have had to delay this due to the amount of broken glass that has been deliberately shattered all over these play facilities.
A professional cleaning company will be attending on Monday to clean this area to a safe standard at which time we will be opening for the children that have missed this facility for such a long time.
Please be kind – Everyone deserves to play safely
