Don’t miss out on the National Lockdown Business Grant Scheme
As the country moves out of a national lockdown into a new tier system Maidstone Borough Council is reminding those businesses registered for business rates that have had to close from 5 November until 2 December 2020 to claim a grant.
So far, £626,000 has been claimed out of a possible £2.4million.
The Council would like to see every business entitled to claim ‘The Local Restrictions Support Grant’ to put in an application.
Stephen McGinnes, Mid Kent Services Director at Maidstone Borough Council said: “We really don’t want those businesses affected to miss out on money that is meant to help them through this difficult time.
“With this national lockdown finishing on Wednesday many businesses can now reopen, so if you are one of those who has been forced to close, please apply now.”
Businesses required to close in England will be eligible for the following:
• For properties with a rateable value of £15k or under, grants to be £1,334 per month, or £667 per two weeks;
• For properties with a rateable value of between £15k-£51k grants to be £2,000 per month, or £1,000 per two weeks;
