An exciting part time opportunity has arisen to join Bearsted Parish Council as a Parish Council Administration Assistant. You will be responsible for providing administration support to our Parish Clerk & Responsible Financial Officer, in all activities associated with the smooth running of the parish Council, to make Bearsted the best it can be.
We are looking for someone that is organised and efficient, personable and professional. Knowledge of Microsoft office packages and social media are essential. We welcome applicants that are willing to work towards the ILCA (Introduction to Local Council Administration) qualification.

Salary (SCP 18-19) £18,070(£9.39 per hr)-£18,745(£9.74 per hr)(based on experience and qualifications)pro rata/per annum.
Part Time: Permanent 12 hours per week (with additional maternity cover for 16 hours per week from June 2018). 28hrs per week for approximately 9 months.
Working pattern: some evenings/occasional weekends
Maidstone Borough Council propose to make changes to the current off-street parking places order to introduce parking charges in London Road and Willington Street Park and Ride, revising the car park tariffs and amending the waiting time for permit holders and reducing the duration of stay in the Tovil Hill Car Park from 2 hours to a 1 hour stay.
There have been recent updates to the Kent Police website, including the online crime reporting facility.
While we hope that members of the Parish do not have the need to use the website, it is recommended should you need to report crime such as non-injury collisions, fraud or hate crime. It takes roughly 10 minutes to report the crime and you will be sent a confirmation email with your reference number detailed within.
Please be aware that Yeoman Lane will be closed from 4th December for 10 days due to Virgin Media Works continuing

The council has recently appointed a new Clerk! Sarah Lewis has taken the role and joined us from Tovil Parish Council where she held the position of Deputy Clerk. The Council are delighted to welcome Sarah to the role and wish her great success!
Whilst Sarah settles into her role, and works through a backlog of activities you may find the website is slightly out of date. We plan to address this in the next few months and appreciate your patience as she gets up to speed.
