Tackling anti-social behaviour in Bearsted
There has been a noticeable uplift in incidents of anti-social behaviour in the Parish of Bearsted in 2026.
Several areas have been targeted, notably the beautiful Bearsted Woodland Trust which has seen significant damage. At the meeting of the Parish Council in July, the Bearsted Woodland Trust and other members of the community, attended and asked for assistance in tackling anti-social behaviour.
The Parish Council has been working closely with the Maidstone Community Policing team to reduce incidents and identify perpetrators. To support this effort, we are now exploring the introduction of CCTV cameras in appropriate locations.
The Parish Council is holding an Extraordinary meeting on Tuesday 11th August at 19.15 at Madginford Hall to discuss options related to the introduction of CCTV. The Parish Council would welcome constructive discussion around this issue and would welcome residents to attend. The agenda for this meeting can be viewed on our website and on Parish noticeboards at The Green, Madginford shops and the A20/Yeoman Lane car park.
If you are unable to attend but would like to comment please write to the Clerk by email: clerk@bearstedparishcouncil.gov.uk or by post to: Bearsted Parish Council, Madginford Hall, Egremont Road, Bearsted, ME15 8LH
