Planting a tree for the Jubilee

Yesterday Cllr Michael Bollom oversaw the planting of two new trees on The Green.

 

On the westerly edge of The Green is a Quercus Robur ( English Oak ), which is a replacement for the Cherry tree that had to be felled a year ago. This tree will be dedicated to Queen Elizabeth II when celebrations for her Platinum Jubilee take place in June of this year.

 

On the easterly edge is the introduction of a new  Prunus ‘ Kanzan’ also known as a Cherry Blossom.
